Now known as the Principality of Hutt River, this small (75 sq.km) 'micoronation' 517km of Perth was founded by Leonard George Casley in 1969, following a dispute with the Western Australian Government. It issued its own stamps, including the series featuring reptiles below.
My friend and the publisher of A Guide to the Snakes of Papua New Guinea, Philip Willmott-Sharp, received a knighthood from Hutt River Province and was henceforth known as Sir Philip.

A charming set of stamps, albeit roughly produced, featuring three dragons and three monitor lizards, although the species listed in genus Amphibolorus are now placed in Ctenophorus with A.darlingtoni synonymised within C.reticulatus.
