PAPUA NEW GUINEA (NCD)

PAPUA NEW GUINEA SNAKEBITE PROJECT
A QUIET SUNDAY

It is Sunday again and hasn't the week flown by!
Last Sunday we were at Edevu and Dawa was trying to fix our generator.
Today we are back in Moresby taking it relatively easy with air conditioning and electric power on tap.

It was slow start today, after the late night road-cruising yesterday, but I went over to the Snek Haus to sort out some snakes with Jasper and then to the lab to photograph the captures from the night before, so they can be released when we next go out to Brown River. I also fixed the keelback as a voucher because the Small-eyed snake had not eaten it.

I got back to the house just as David was leaving to take Simon to the airport for his flight back to Australia. It was a real whistle-stop visit for him, less than three days. I just heard his aircraft go over heading south.

Nothing much else is planned for the rest of today, although I will probably got back to the laboratory and the Snek Haus and Dave is in the clinic.

And in case you are interested, my right eye is much better thankyou. There are still some red blood swirls and lots of small black spots but the haemorrhage seems to have broken down itself. I will have to find out the cause of this unusual occurrence when I get back to the UK in a month's time.

Tomorrow we start work in earnest again.
