PAPUA NEW GUINEA (NCD)

PAPUA NEW GUINEA SNAKEBITE PROJECT
A LAZY DAY

I think, after over 2.5 months in the field I deserve a day off, a lazy day, a day without fieldwork or even much lab work, a day catching up on the computer, working on this blog, taking it easy, doing something like herp photography etc. (but is that really a day off for me?)

Well whether it is or it isn't, that day is today, and if it does not make interesting reading, then I apologise but that is just the way it is.

If I was in the UK I would be at the Safari Park today, it is August Bank Holiday Monday after all. It is also a public holiday here in PNG. If I were in the UK I would be busy with reptile encounters etc, so today, here in Port Moresby, I am going to work at my own sweet pace.

Dave and Simon did not have such a quite day, they were out at the ExxonMobil site doing snakebite training for the doctors, nurses and paramedics.

And tomorrow it will be back to fieldwork, the boys and I are heading back out to the ExxonMobil site at 06:30 in the morning to look forPapuan taipan and Papuan blacksnake.

So grant me my lazy day, just once in a while.
