TIMOR-LESTE (Com to Dili, Dili District)

We were up early, as the sun rose from the ocean, and packed the Troopies.

We were on the road by 09:30 and made good time, arriving back at TLH around six-hours later. The weather was good, sunny and warm, so the drive was very pleasant even though we only stopped a few times for photo opportunities.

We needed to get back to Dili so that Hinrich could see a doctor about his illness.

A short while later Hinrich returned from the new and well-appointed Stamford Clinic with a diagnosis: Dengue fever, and with blood values so seriously off normal, the doctor was on the verge of medivac'ing him out of the country. So, for Hinrich it will be strict bedrest and rehydration at the TLH, along with daily blood tests, while the rest of us continue the fieldwork without him.
