TIMOR-LESTE REPTILE & AMPHIBIAN SURVEY
PHASE VII: ON THE ROAD TO MT BINA

The afternoon was spent working up specimens and photography, pending moving on again tomorrow, this time towards the south coast.

In the evening Hinrich took the team out for another night herp while I worked on the photographs and this blog. They visited the village of Afaloicai for amphibians and collected Rice-paddy frogs (Fejervarya sp.), some Striped treefrogs (Polypedates cf. leucomystax), a juvenile Timor river frog (Limnoectes timorensis) - our first specimen of this species not from the Meleotegi River - and some large tadpoles of what appear to be Rice-paddy frogs. They arrived back at the hotel just as the first rain in days started. Tempted to go out herping again - no not really.
