TIMOR-LESTE (Oecusse Distr.)

TIMOR-LESTE REPTILE & AMPHIBIAN SURVEY
THE END OF THE ROAD

Eventually we returned to Lamase, where we spotted two male Timor flying lizards (Draco timoriensis) which we were able to capture.

Laca then used our herp picture cards to interview the villagers about the herps of their immediate vicinity. We designed these cards to help with our surveys. A paper describing them and their purpose can be downloaded here.

The villagers were very cooperative and interested in our work, and we will have to return here again in the future in order to determine what kind of skink it was that got away in this nice forest at the foot of one of Oecusse's talles mountains.
