TIMOR-LESTE (Oecusse to Dili Distr.)

TIMOR-LESTE REPTILE & AMPHIBIAN SURVEY
WARNING: WE BRAKE FOR ROAD-KILLS!

We reached the Indonesian-Timorese border and passed through the Immigration, Police and Customs for both countries. It being Sunday the border was much busier than when we came through enroute to Oecusse.

On the last leg of the journey back to Dili we stopped off at Lake Maubara where the dead trees of a "petrified forest" grow out of the water. It is always a good photographic location, but more so when the pelicans are at home, which they weren't, one lone heron perched on a dead branch. We were handing our Troopies back to Rentlo when we got back to TLH so Hinrich and I had our photos taken alongside our respective vehicles.
