Com to Tutuala, Lautém District

To reach Tutuala we again crossed the limestone plateau to Bauro then turned east along the northern shore of Lake Ira Lalaro, passing through the village of Mehara before we reached Tutuala. This was about an hour's drive from Bauro.

In Tutuala we also made contact with the village leadership to enable us to conduct our survey on Jaco Island, the uninhabited island off Timor-Leste's eastern tip. This was planned for a few days time.

At the end of our recon visit we relaxed for a while in the grounds of the old Portuguese pousada at Tutuala before beginning the bone-breaking drive back to the Com Beach Resort.
