PAPUA NEW GUINEA (Oro Province)

PAPUA NEW GUINEA SNAKEBITE PROJECT
WHITESNAKE HUNT, WHOA YEAH!

In the evening we went out again, just Ben, Hayward and myself, and although we failed to find any venomous snakes at night in the Sangara plantation we did catch a Ground snake (Stegonotus sp.), while another escaped, and we caught a Müller's skink (Sphenomorphus muelleri), a large and curious species I have only seen twice before.

Ground snake,
Stegonotus
