TIMOR-LESTE (Dili Distr.)

TIMOR-LESTE REPTILE & AMPHIBIAN SURVEY
HERE WE GO AGAIN

I arrived back in Dili and Hinrich met me at the airport. Back at the TLH I gradually met the German team who had been swimming - I already knew Sven well from previous phases and had met Max and Lukas at the Vienna Museum when we worked on specimens there some months previously.

I spent the day recovering from my long journey, updating and being updated by Hinrich, and battling with the terrible internet at the TLH - unfortunately, it has really deteriorated over the past year or so.

In the evening the enthusiastic young Germans went herping in the TLH grounds and came back with Common house geckos (Hemidactylus frenatus), Roti Is. house geckos (H. tenkatei), Mutilated geckos (Gehyra mutilata), a Striped treefrog (Polypedates leucomystax), and two Brahminy blindsnakes (Indotyphlops braminus).
