Meanwhile Mark was enroute back to Timor-Leste.

My next two flights were with All Nippon Airways, to Tokyo Haneda and then on to Singapore. They were uneventful and I slept much of the way, although I was surprised to learn from the inflight meal that spam fritters were a "traditional Japanese dish".

I had to be back in Singapore on the morning of Saturday 26 July to catch the Air Timor-SilkAir flight back to Dili to meet up with Hinrich and the German team for Phase X of the Timor-Leste Reptile and Amphibian Survey. Miss it and the next flight would be on Tuesday.

I arrived in Singapore in plenty of time to go through immigration, pick up my bag and recheck in with Air Timor-SilkAir. That done I had time to wander around what I think is the bestand most welcoming international airport in the world, while I waited for the gate to open. I even managed to pick up a couple of the Singapore Zoo mugs I wanted, I bought one at the zoo a few years ago and have been unable to find them online.

At 09:35 I left Singapore for Dili and 4 hours later met Hinrich at Presidente Nicolai Lobato airport. 15 minutes later I was back at the TLH, jet-lagged but almost ready for Phase X of the Reptile and Amphibian Survey of Timor-Leste.
