We checked into the Roberto Carlos Hotel, the only hotel in Lospalos.

It was at the hotel we discovered the reason for the handling problems I had experienced with my troopie. The rear left wheel had been forced backwards to almost contact the wheelarch and the tyre was in contact with the exhaust pipe—the wheel-bearings were shot. Clearly this was a problem caused by the drive up from Tutuala Beach and considering we were now planning to drive to the south coast on some equally dodgy roads we decided to contact Rentló and have them meet us in Com with a replacement vehicle.
