HERPS ON NON-HERP STAMPS 1997 ALPHONSE DAUDET : LE PETIT CHOSE
A stamp commemorating French author Alphonse Daudet (1840-1897) and his Roman autobiography Le Petit Chose. There is a geck on the wall behind the boy.
2001 ANNEE DU SERPENT
A 140F minisheet commemorating 2001, the Chinese Year of the Snake, on which the two snakes can be fairly easily identified as a Blue-ringed sea krait (Laticauda laticaudata) and a cobra (Naja sp.), but only the former resident is on New Caledonia.
MAISON SOUS-MARINE
A stamp promoting the underwater viewing submersibles of Jacques Rougerie with what appears to be a Hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) swimming into the bottom right corner.
