A COMFORTABLE TRIP

I spent a very restful night in the Ambassador Transit Hotel at Singapore's Changi Airport. I consider the small charge levied for a single room without an ensuite a bargin, what price feeling refreshed when you fly.

I rose in plenty of time for my All Nippon Airways flight to Tokyo Narita and had a pleasant flight, although it was a bit cramped and the seats did not recline. At Tokyo I had six hours to kill so I decided to go through Immigration and Customs and actually enter Japan for the first time. I have flown through Narita several times but never been out of the airport, so this time I did, and got a photograph to prove it. The rest of the time I wandered the terminal where I noticed a display of CITES confiscations intended to warn travellers they should not buy artifacts made from endangered species. As I was on my way to an IUCN conservation workshop this display seemed quite apt.

My next flight was with United, a 6.5 hour hop to Honolulu in the Hawaiian Islands. I slept most of the way and arrived refreshed at 07:50 on the morning of the 16th.
