PAPUA NEW GUINEA 2006

PORT MORESBY
National Capital District
24-26 October 2006

I flew back to Port Moresby from Oro Province with less than 48hours before Dave and I were due to depart on the next stage of the project.

I settled the seven newly captured venomous snakes from Oro into the Serpentarium and did some photography. One of the Papuan taipans (Oxyuranus scutellatus canni) was busy laying eggs so I took the opportunity to photograph her too.

The proud father!

The day was a rush, getting snakes cleaned out and organised and Jasper instructed how to feed the newly arrived Müller's crowned snakes (Aspidomorphus muelleri), picking up essential kit and supplies, and maps. The following morning I met the early flight from Cairns which brought my partner Bina Mistry to PNG for her first ever visit.

A tired Bina arrives from UK via Cairns.

The next morning Dave, Bina and I flew to Madang, Madang Province for the final phase of the 2006 expedition.
