Filming with Croatian Television

The Croatian film crew, reporter Ivana Nanut and her crew from NOVA TV, followed Neven, Mladen and myself as we set off to look for Nose-horn vipers (Vipera ammodytes) and were almost immediately rewarded by a male viper beside the track onto Mladen's study site in the western Medvednica. I placed the snake on the road and coiled it under my hat so I could obtain still photographs and so the film crew could film it while I delivered a "piece to camera" - in English rather than Croatian!

A little while later Mladen, the two park guards and I were searching an old building when the film crew called to say they had found another snake. It turned out to be a courting pair of Nose-horn vipers which were filmed, photographed and released back in the same spot they had been found. Wrangling two highly venomous snakes and concentrating on delivering another "piece to camera" took some concentration.

The film crew left us and returned to Zagreb.
The following day Ivana and NOVA TV returned to the exhibition to record interviews with myself and Neven.
